Week 3, Thing 7

When I came in to work today, I went to google to search for something and saw a photograph where once there was white. I immediately thought to myself..."huh" and went on about my day.

Apparently, that reaction puts me in the minority as I learned here, here, and also over here. The idea of a non-white space Google has thrown the interwebs into such a tizzy it seems, that less than one day into the project, it's already been ended. I hope there actually was some bug behind Google's decision to end the project, and that the legions of Internet commenters who seem waiting to pounce on the tiniest of changes and rip it into a million pieces didn't bully it out of existence.

Week 3, Thing 6

I found this "thing" a little frustrating, actually. Basically every app created these days is created for an iPhone or Droid, neither of which I own or could afford. Don't us broke fools who have at most a laptop deserve to play too?

Anyway, after going through a whole bunch of apps, the one I had the most fun with was bubblr. Creating comic strips from your own photos, or anyone else's, is an enjoyable way to kill way too much of your time, as I learned the hard way.

Week 3, Thing 5

For reasons not too difficult to decipher, I decided to use the term "unemployment" on flickr to see if that would provide anything interesting, insightful, or at least remotely fun. I found this and I dig it.

Earlier attempts to complete this "thing" have been unsuccessful, let's hope you can see this one!

Week 2, Things 3 and 4

Done and done.

Setting up and registering the blog was easy as promised and indeed, the hardest part was coming up with a name.

I took a quick look around 43 things and while I either didn't find, or didn't understand how to find, more information about 23 things, I did pick up about 3 or 4 goals for my own life that I hadn't thought of before.

Week 1, Thing 2: Lifelong Learning

I promise not to turn this into a mommy blog, but since having Juliet I have learned so much. For example, I learned very quickly that Juliet does not like "tummy time" and is not afraid to let you know that...loudly, and with a very ticked-off expression on her little red face. I think having her has actually helped me develop Habit 3, though it is still the most difficult for me by far. But, I have learned that most of the "problems" that pop up with her, and in other areas of my life, are just challenges to be resolved. She can't scream forever, after all. Eventually I will come up with something to bring things back on level...even if we both shed a few tears in the process.

Habit 7 1/2 is definitely the easiest for me! Yes, I play with my baby and all that good educational baby brain-growing sutff, but I have also learned that playing Wii boxing and giving your husband the beatdown of his life every once in a while is good for your brain AND your marriage.

Week 1, Thing 1

"Read this blog and find out about the program." Done and done.
I have at least heard of everything mentioned in thing #1, so that's something at least!
